Cornelius Brown spent the beginning of his career from 2003-2008 as a project manager and senior project manager for Health Net.  He oversaw compliance and the operation process for the states of California, Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York. 

Cornelius also teaches in higher education.  He has taught at the undergraduate and graduate level at University of the Pacific, Brightwood College, Devry University and University of Phoenix.  The courses Cornelius specializes in are: Organizational Development, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Statistics in Psychology, Human Resources Management, and Management. 

Before joining the Community College Chancellor’s Office, Cornelius served as the Program Manager for University of the Pacific and University of Phoenix for four years where he oversaw organizational development for staff, academic quality for the School of Business and the College of Information Systems and Technology. Cornelius also spent the last five years as a consult helping organizations in a range of areas including: spirituality in the workplace, performance management, and organizational behavior. 

Cornelius’ educational background starts with an undergraduate degree from CSU Sacramento with a degree in Psychology; emphasis in Industrial and Organizational Psychology.  He obtained a Master’s degree from National University in Human Resources Management with an emphasis in Organizational Behavior and Performance.  He has a Master’s degree from the University of Phoenix in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and is currently working towards a Ph.D. in the same discipline.

More importantly, Cornelius loves to travel with his daughter, Kaedyn Brown. Their family goal is to travel to at least five Disney owned locations by the year 2020.  When the Brown family is not traveling, they enjoy cooking, listening to the Stylistic radio station on Pandora, creating science projects and family game night.
